XY

February 2014

The Set X & Y Base Set is the first set in the TCG since the introduction of Pokemon X & Y. As with each new generation, the Base set always represents a special set. As such, the X & Y Base Set contains Pokemon from the Kalos -Region. This set focuses on Pokemon from the Pokemon X edition. It also introduces two new traits. The first is the unique fairy type that didn't exist until then. Second, there's the Mega Evolution mechanic, where if you mega evolve a Pokemon, your turn automatically ends without giving you a chance to attack.
