The fifth English Mega Evolution set finally brings one of the scene's most iconic Pokémon into Mega form with Mega Darkrai ex. The Nightmare King is accompanied by Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, and Mega Excadrill ex – all new additions from the Mega Dimension DLC of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The set contains over 115 cards, including more than 35 Special Illustration Rares. This time, the ETB comes with a Zarude-IR as a promo card. Like Perfect Order and Chaos Rising, Pitch Black is a focused, compact expansion – but the hunt for SIRs should still be worthwhile.

In August, three new Tins will be released with fresh promo artworks that have not been available for purchase anywhere else – neither in Japan nor in regular sets. You can choose from Mega Dragonite ex, Mega Darkrai ex, and Mega Zeraora ex. Each Tin contains the corresponding foil promo card and four booster packs. Those who buy a Tin choose one of the three Pokémon – the artwork is exclusive to each variant. Within the community, the Dragonite Tin has been the most discussed of the three so far.
